Certification Information:
Annual inspections of Minnesota commercial motor vehicles must be performed by State Patrol certified mechanics. (MN Statute 169.781)
Certified mechanics are required to retrain every two years to maintain their active status.
Certification Course:
The certification course includes the standards prescribed in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, Section 396.17, Appendix G. It also includes Minnesota Inspection Standards for intra-state and two-year vehicles.
