Rosemount Man Crowned State Truck Driving Champion

Rosemount Man Crowned State Truck Driving Champion Duane Foreman is named the Minnesota Grand Champion for his safe driving knowledge and skill behind the wheel of a big rig. He will go on to compete at nationals in August.

Duane Foreman, a professional truck driver for YRC in Burnsville, Minnesota, was crowned the Grand Champion of the 2010 Minnesota Truck Driving Championships for the second year in a row. He was the top-scoring competitor in the recent contest.

Foreman, who resides in Rosemount, Minnesota, earned the top score among 98 professional truck drivers who came to the Koch Trucking facilities in Minneapolis from across the state to compete for the title of the state’s best truck driver. Foreman (who competed in the Three-axle division, one of eight classes in the contest) bested all others in three elements of the competition: Written test, driving skills course and a pre-trip inspection where the drivers must identify planted safety defects on a tractor-trailer.

He and the other first-place class champions will compete in the 2010 National Truck Driving Championships in Columbus this August.

Foreman is available for in-person or phone interviews. Please contact the MTA at ed@mntruck.org or call us at (651) 646-7351 to set up an interview.
