Jorgensen Named Minnesota’s Top Truck Driver;
2007 Drivers of the Month Honored

The Minnesota Trucking Association (MTA) named David Jorgensen, a professional truck driver for Windom-based Fortune Transportation, as the Minnesota’s 2007 Truck Driver of the Year.
Jorgensen was selected from among a group of distinguished drivers (see list below) by a team of judges comprised of the division administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, a captain from the Minnesota State Patrol and a director at the Minnesota Department of Transportation. He was chosen based upon his safe driving record, job performance and community service. The Minnesota Truck Driver of the Month/Year Program has been in existence since 1973.
During his years on the road, Dave has driven almost four million miles and has earned several safe-driving awards.
Dave’s professional career began by chance 38-years ago, when another driver was unable to make his run. When he returned from the trip, he was offered a job and has been enjoying the open road ever since.
Today, Dave takes his Columbia Freightliner (full of cheese and butter) down to Texas over to New Mexico and back to Minnesota.
Dave and his wife, Jeannette, reside in Lakefield. When off-duty, Dave enjoys another type of driving – golf. He is also an avid fisherman and bowler.
Fortune Transportation is a climate-controlled motor carrier based in Windom, Minnesota. Donavan and Sharon Olson founded the company in November of 1980. Fortune Transportation currently runs 53’ x 102” reefers with Carrier and Thermo-king units with 502 freon.
