Minnesota Truck Driver Shortage Creates Job Boom

With baby boomers starting to turn in their keys, there's a great need for drivers to get behind the wheels of big rigs.
Minnesota is expected to have more than 23,000 openings for truck driving jobs throughout this decade.
Demand is growing so fast many truck driving schools have a 100% placement rate.
"It's huge there are so many opportunities for people who want to become truck drivers they have so many jobs to choose from." said Denise Rimbold with Century College Transportation Training Center.
According to the Minnesota Trucking Association the average yearly salary for a truck driver is $46,000 and there are nearly 18,000 trucking companies in the state.
